Additional Information

At Silver Spur we offer students practical and interactive activities in Science. Students in grades 4 & 5 participate in hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) projects. Learning through fun, and hands-on projects helps kids learn engineering concepts. Students are also able to visit and enhance their science experience in our outdoor garden classroom where students participate in planting and study decomposition and botany.

Silver Spur’s Learning Center is an essential part of the Silver Spur Community. Our dedicated Learning center teachers and aides plan an educational program that provides the help and necessary skills to assist our students to progress in the general curriculum.

Silver Spur Elementary offers general and instrumental music; ensemble and chorus. These services are provided thanks to the Peninsula Education Foundation (PEF). Our music teachers work collaboratively with classroom teachers in order to enable children to find new ways of communication and self-expression. In addition, Silver Spur also counts with Arts at your Fingertips, a program that brings standards-based education projects that combine art techniques, art history and aesthetics in lessons that meet California visual arts standards for elementary.

Students also have an opportunity to participate in field-trips and/or assemblies where they are exposed to different experiences in the arts: Music, Dance and Visual Arts.
