good morning second grade so as you got ready this week to do page 237 but really to page 238 in your your turn practice book I wanted to post and share this little reminder I know he's dumb he's in class before so this is just a quick review in case you forgot I want to talk about homophones today those are words usually two words that sound the same but have different spelling I'm different meanings so it's a set of words that sound the same but have different spellings and meanings so for example let's look the first example I have is ball and ball so we know this is the kind of ball that you throw and catch and play baseball with in football and basketball this ball is another word for crying crying or a temper tantrum usually crime so they both sound the same but they have totally different meanings so this one beat and beat this is beat like you're beating a drum and these are Beats like the vegetables they sound the same but totally different spellings and totally different meanings let's keep looking at a few more examples one and one the number one and I won my game two more examples here for you week and week this is weak like I'm not very strong and this is weak like this week I'm going to stay at home last example for you today son and son this is like the sunshine and this is Mom and Dad have a son a boy alright so I hope that gives you a quick little reminder of what homophones are two words that sound the same but have different spelling Suzanne meaning now I think you will definitely be able to go to page 238 without any problems talk to you soon
