Elementary Social-Emotional Support Resources
Counseling Support Services
Each elementary site has a school psychologist available to support the social-emotional needs of all students on campus. The school psychologist is a resource to students, teachers and parents when a student is struggling with concerns related to mental health, social relationships and academic growth. School psychologists can connect families with community resources and provide guidance on how the school team can support students experiencing crisis. Social Emotional Learning Curriculum
All PVPUSD elementary school students received instruction in social emotional learning and development through the Second Step Program. Throughout the school year, designated Second Step lessons are delivered by the classroom teacher. These lessons focus on social emotional skills such as empathy, emotion management, feeling identification and problem solving. Click HERE for more information on the Second Step program.
