okay all of my Silver Spur elementary school friends were going to get started first of all it is so great to see every single one of you I never get to see this many students at one time so it really is Barry and I am very excited and I think a lot of you are very excited too because we're going to be going back to a full day reopening starting this Monday April 19th now what is that it means that in your classrooms right now and I could see all the different classrooms and means that you're probably going to have about double the number of students you've already had which means that they're going to be more people on campus which means that they're going to be some changes and I have everybody here right now kindergarten through fifth grade I thought about doing different presentations and families for the different grade levels but then I said you know what we're all coming back the same way on the same day what type of group is and that way we can all be on the same page so the big reason we're here today is to be proactive for those of you who don't know what proactive means it's the ability to either create or control the situation by causing something to happen instead of waiting for something to happen and then respond so what do I mean by that basically what I mean is that we don't want to wait for the first day to come which would be this Monday see how everything goes and then figure it out and then start responding it if things go wrong we want to create and control the situation had this discussion now make sure that everybody is feeling very positive making sure that people are aware of the expectations of the different schedule so that we can have an excellent situation on Monday and moving forward for the rest of the year now I'm not going to talk for too long the reason for that is I really just want to get out the basic make sure that we are all getting the same information and then your teacher is going to have a follow-up discussion with you after work and you can go into more detail and you can talk about what all of these things are going to look like in your classroom with your specific class and teacher there's nothing to memorize in this presentation we're going to be covering a lot but I don't want you to feel like you need to take notes or you're going to be tested on this all the information that I'm disgusting discussing your teachers have I've also sent it home I'm going to send it home again with more update so you have all this information and you could go over it in more detail with your parents and your teachers and I just don't want you to feel like you have to worry about remembering anything what you do need to remember or the Quarry discussions about Behavior nothing should be coming as a surprise but like I said it's good to be proactive so that we don't have any issues later on so few topics that work recovering today we're going to be talked about all the changes that are going to go on this going to be changes with pickup and drop-off at lunch and recess in Bizet lots of changes going on and we're also going to talk about the behavioral expectations involved with all of those p a lot of these behavioral expectations always existed we just want to make sure that we're going over it again so that everything goes really well for the rest of the year I'm sure a lot of you had been in groups before whether it's a sports game where you have play Groot some people go to chorus license where there a lot of people different activities and you probably noticed if only one person in a cruise is negative or mean or difficult it is through everybody and that's why we want to have this discussion today we want to make sure that every single person is being respectful and friendly and positive so that we don't run into those issues again being proactive let's talk about the schedules first and get this be aware of the changes you don't need to memorize all this we're going to take you through it once next week once next week start but we do want you to be aware of all of it we also want you to keep two things in mind when we discuss all of these things positive and listen to those are the two big words and I can even see right now there are a couple people who are not listening so please make sure that you're looking up here thank you very much when I say positive what do I mean I mean I want you to be kind to each other I want you to communicate with one another I want you to make sure that you're trying to lift each other up and that you're trying to be one of the positive people on campus as most of the negative when I say with him I mean not only with him so that you could hear us I mean listen and follow directions that the adult on campus give you the first time and that's going to be a big deal because again we're going to have double this it's on campus and they're all these different rules that we never had before with cool bed and making sure that work three feet apart in the classrooms and fix you apart while eating they're all different things going on so we need to really really make sure that positive to each other and that we're listening the very first time if a teacher campus Supervisor office manager custodian myself anybody talks to you we want to make sure that we don't have to repeat ourselves cuz just like we just add a couple minutes ago if even one person is not following what everybody else should be doing it could really cause issues and we just don't want that right so let's get into the discussion of the schedule so that you can really visualize what's going what happened next week drop off is going to be the same for everybody it is going to be 8:15 to 8:30 and again you do not have to memorize this but we want you to be aware of everything that's happening 8:15 to 8:34 body grades 1 through 5 are all going to be in the parking lot okay so that's a little bit different some people were going on Basswood Avenue now only kindergarten will be on Basswood Avenue that's the street right next to you PowerSchool connected to the parking lot so again you will be in the parking lot kindergarten on Basswood Avenue everybody is going to be in the same drop all time 8:15 to 8:30 which means we'll be star Quest at 8:30 now we're still going to be wearing the mess we're still going to be doing the green screens with your parents they're going to still do the green screen on the phone we also have the printable forms that the Walkers and bikers have been using your throat do that and we're also going to continue with the temperature checks so I can't repeat this enough we need you to follow directions the first time because they're going to be a lot more people going through that parking lot and going through into campus when we do the temp text everybody to be on their absolute best behavior we are still going to have online Wednesday and we are still going to have early release Monday so please make sure you don't come to school on Wednesday it's going to be 9 to 11:45 on Wednesdays online and then Monday is we're still going to end a little bit earlier all of these schedule have gone home already again the update is going to be sent today and your teachers have a 2 so I'm not going to go all of the different time because they're a different time for recess and lunch for the different grades you don't have to know that right now all you need to know is that you're going to file directions when they're given to you and we're all going to have a wonderful time now it's going to look like what's it going to look like in class because I could see all of you in class right now but it's going to look very different on Monday because they're going to be more students we're still going to need to be 3 feet apart that's why you know this the teachers have real real is the death so that everybody can be 3 feet apart with the full classroom impact we're still going to be doing the mess all the same rules that we had before still apply list about what's going to happen outside of the classroom because we have recess lunch and physical education and they're going to be some some changes going on with all of those items so recess a teacher or another adult is going to walk you over to the eating area because you will be eating first and then playing second so I'm going to say this again I'm going to repeat myself that we do not want to repeat ourselves in case I'm going to keep repeating that for this impatient but please once Monday starts know that this is very serious somebody tells you to do something they don't need to tell you three and four times because when that happen that takes attention away from the rest of the class we can't move forward the way we want to and we want to do that and I know you don't want to cause any negativity So within the first time when they take you over to recess you were going to go over to the eating area in K recess is going to be 20 minutes so the eating area is how to beat the blue benches right next to the NPR as well as that big grassy area in between the classroom portable and the shed once again you don't need to memorize that we will take you there we just want you to be aware of it please make sure that you are sitting and eating for the first 5 minutes if you're not eating that whole time no problem but we need you sitting for those first five minutes so that we can prepare everything for the place hot a whistle and the campus supervisors will make sure that everybody gets the equipment they want because the playground equipment is coming back there are going to be soccer balls and footballs basketball team hula hoops in jump ropes I could see some smiling face I'm sure you've missed that okay so we're very excited to bring those things back but we can have is everybody rushing to the campus supervisors over to the sheds at 1 to get the the ball with a hula hoop or whatever they want you will be instructed want to go to the shed you will do it in an orderly fashion in line we have plenty of equipment folks you don't need to be first online to make sure that you get a soccer ball we have plenty of stuff out there and also keep in mind you're not going to be touching each other you're not going to playing actual game in basketball you're not going to be posting up on each other you're not going to be playing defense on one another same thing for football and soccer you're going to be passing to each other and playing games where you can stay for the report because remember the first five minutes is eating it while you're eating you need to make sure that you're six feet apart because your master going to be down after you eating and the master backup we can be 3 feet apart but no closer so that means when we're using all this wonderful workout equipment you need to stay a little bit further away so like I said you were going to be able to play with all that equipment now I talked about the eating station since we had the blue Ventures and then we have that grassy area what about the PlayStation you're going to be able to go to five different areas okay so we're going to let you spread out a little bit which again he's at everybody needs to be positive in on their best behavior because what we don't want to happen is to take away Facebook is only a few people couldn't follow the rules because I can't take away recess for just 10 kids if it's not going well I'm going to need to take it away for everybody and we don't want to do that to make sure that you're on your best behavior and please heard your friends to do so as well so when we're playing you're going to line up you're going to get your equipment and then when recess is over again we only want to tell you one time you will go back and light up on your number you will be instructed to do no need to memorize it right now and then your teachers will feature another adult will come get you and bring you back to the class K very very similar for lunch lunch is going to be 30 minutes the first 10 minutes going to be eating now we have hot lunch for free every single day in the cafeteria which is the NPR how are you going to get that lunch if you choose to if you choose to eat it if you were going to go through the MPR you will go your lunch and then you're going to exit right out the other end of the NPR there should be no talking there should be no playing with the stuff that is being stored in the NPR you get your food and you go right to the other end of the NPR and head out again to those two eating areas that we already discussed the blue benches and the biography area in between the Portables and the equipment shed and the five stations that we already discuss our oral all also going to be the same gas stations with the blacktop where you would play basketball the field you can do football soccer run you was going to be able to head over to the Garden you was going to be able to use the play structure and you also go to the area right in front of the library that's where were most likely going to put the hula hoop and jump rope so you can enjoy that area too you're going to go back to visit in person you've been doing physical Edge station on Zoom for a very long time we're going to be doing it in person now so everything that we've talked about already listening the first time making sure that you're saying 3 feet apart from people and listen to everything that that Jeff and his assistant say to you so that we can keep doing all of those wonderful things and visit very excited about that because I know it's been a little bit different on Zoom so excited you'll be able to do that what is the Smith going to look like again just like we've been talkin about this whole time you were going to be instructed by a teacher or another adult to line up you will be taking over to the parking lot and we need to make sure that you are getting your backpack ready that you're doing all the stuff in the tummy matter because what happened but I know a couple of you seen this already if anybody shows up late at the parking lot it causing the traffic jam and that's when cars become dangerous because you're trying to go around each other and because because that area is congested meeting there a lot of cars in one spot so we need you to get over to those cars in the parking lot to your families and head out of the parking lot as soon as you know after dismissal for pick up and make sure that everything works really well so like I said I had not planned on talking for a long time I want you to have a follow-up discussions with your teachers which is going to happen right now they're going to engage in a conversation talk a little bit more about all of this we're also going to need again on Monday to make sure that we discussed this all a second time to make sure that we're all ready for a wonderful day but he gave you memorize that the teachers will get you on June and we'll do this again. I am very very excited about next week I think as long as we are positive and we listen it is going to go outstanding make sure that you're following World rules and regulations that we've discussed and just make sure that you're good to each other that you smile that you're happy and I I just look very forward to seeing you on campus so thank you very much how do you spell is an absolutely wonderful day and I would love to see some some waving can I see some waving from everybody goodbye. Have yourself a wonderful day thank you
