Distant Learning Week 4 (April 13-17)

Review Clementine stories from the lock book and go over your groups' answers to the Close Reader pages 107-113
Go to answer keys and compare your groups' answers to the answer key. Remember, there is more than one way to answer a question. Feel free to add more details with your correction pen.

Correct Math workbook pages together - pages 91-100
bring any questions back to our Zoom meeting. Review pages 101-104 if you missed Tuesday's Zoom meeting.
Step 1 - Go to my Posts page and watch the "Crash Course" video.

Step 2 - Build a structure from Legos, blocks, or any other creative material. Be sure it is at least one foot tall and sturdy. Be ready to share your tower at Thursday Zoom.

Step 3 - (We will discuss this step further on Thur. or Fri.)  On a sunny day, take your structure outside to trace the shadow lines throughout the day. Open the lesson link in my post. In the lesson, they are tracing shadows on paper. Without a large piece of construction paper, your shadows may go off the paper. You can also trace the shadows with chalk onto the pavement. Be sure to make a line for your structure to set on to make shadow tracing more accurate (you don't want your structure to move throughout the day).
Be sure to have a ruler to measure the length of your shadows and a watch to label the times of the day you are observing.
Take pictures to add to your assignment.
Review your Frindle notes. Which point of view do you hold regarding Nick Allen as a troublemaker? Most of us can see both points of view but maybe you have stronger leaning toward yes or no. Any view is acceptable, as long as you are backing up your statement with elements of the story to support your opinion. Be sure each paragraph states your opinion clearly and use evidence from the text to support your ideas. Don't forget a conclusion and be sure to edit your writing before sharing with me :)
Take your Reading Counts Quiz as soon as possible.
