Hi Kids,

For the past month, I go out front and ring a cowbell every night at 7 p.m. to celebrate all the amazing things Americans are doing to help others during our current situation.

The first time I did this, everyone came out to see what all the racket was about. I explained to them that it is a way to show gratitude and for the neighborhood to check in with each other. The next night, one neighbor rang a metal triangle, another neighbor banged pots and pans together, and another rattled a tambourine. Since then, others have gotten creative and some just cheer.

So now, my neighbors all come out and we wave to each other and check if everyone on the block is OK. Everyone enjoys the fellowship.

I challenge you to start this on your block or to see how many kindness circles you can complete. Any acts of kindness you are able to complete should be documented in your writing journal. You can always type them and send to me for credit too!
