The 50th anniversary of Earth Day reminds us of the accomplishments of humans when we work together.

"The first Earth Day protests on April 22, 1070, brought 20 million Americans - 10% of the U. S. population at the time - into the streets. Then-President Richard Nixon and the U.S.Congress responded by creating the Environmental Protection Agency and enacting a wave of laws, including the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act."
