Everyday Science Challenge
One of these eggs is not like the other. Is it fresh or spoiled?
Hi Boys and Girls,
I was organizing my refrigerator and found a few egg containers. I wanted to condense them to a single container. First I had to test which eggs were still fresh and which may be spoiled.
I filled a container with water.
Then, I gently placed the eggs into the water.
Spoiled eggs are less dense than fresh eggs and will float in water. Fresh eggs are more dense and sink in water.
Can you see what egg I saved from this test?

Local History Project
Think of a science or social studies topic you would like to learn more about. I sent you a list of ideas. Review the science book we had with our lessons with Mr. Crane.
Once you let me know your topic, it is time to research.
I also sent you the link to the PV library online research codes.
Take notes while you research.
Organize your notes by topics.
Go to your portal page and begin to publish your informational report.
Try to find pictures or draw your own that you can add to your report as illustrations. Think about it as making a picture book of your research topic.
We learned scientifically why green leaves change color in the fall. We learned how fungi differ from plants during our mushrooms lab. I am sorry your garden journals are in the classroom. But I am confident in your research skills by now.
Review and research plant life cycles for kids and review mushroom life cycle too.
Put together a 2 paragraph informational write (one on each topic) and include pictures, photos, or drawings to help illustrate.
