4 / 22 + 23 Wednesday & Thursday Scale of the Solar System / Notes Chapter 6, Lesson 2 / Science Fair Presentation

Martin and Bishop Reddy are DEFINITELY up to something!
This Edlio page is your work for both today, Wednesday, April 22 and tomorrow, Thursday, April 23.
Work through these things at your own pace.
1) Scale Model of the Solar System Video
2) Notes for Chapter 6, Lesson 2  "The Structure of the Solar System"
3) Prepare the next part of your science fair presentation

Yellow Class, I'll see you at 2:00 today for our Zoom meeting!
Red Class, I'll see you at 2:00 tomorrow for our Zoom meeting!

1) The Scale of the Solar System!
Two weeks ago you watched a video showing the scale of the universe...mind blowing right??
Today you are going to start by watching a quick video about the scale of our solar system. The actual size and scale is equally amazing...I hope this video gives you a true sense of how vast it is!

The man who made it gives a commercial for Squarespace in the middle but keep watching after that because he has a bit more to tell you.

Go ahead and watch the video first.

2) Take notes on chapter 6, lesson 2
Open your journal to the next empty page and give it the title,
"Notes - Chapter 6, Lesson 2   The Structure of the Solar System"

3) Science Fair Presentation
Today and tomorrow you should work on the next parts of your science fair presentation.

My suggested pacing is...
Today - Work on sections 2, 3, and 4. The reason you chose this topic, what you hoped to learn, and your hypothesis.
* Create note cards about what you want to say for each and/or write out the exact words you want to use.
* If you are creating a Power Point, create the slides with the most important pieces of information as bullet points to give the big idea of what you will be saying with your speech.

Tomorrow - Work on section 5, Procedures. This is the part where you will talk about what you actually did in your experiment or investigation. I suggest you write it out as "first I...then I...third I...after that..." and so forth. Explain it so that the audience can picture in their head what you were doing as you were doing it. This is the part where you will want to refer back to the pictures you took and any of the actual objects or tools you used in your experiment.
* Create note cards to guide you or actually write out exactly what you want to say.
* If you are creating a Power Point you should have more than one slide. Include pictures if you took any. Even if you didn't take any you can probably find some online to use that will be similar to what you used.
