Zoom Session Follow Up - Atoms to Molecules to Compounds
In our Zoom lesson this week we talked about how atoms form molecules, and molecules form compounds.
Finish the chart we began together in your science journal.
Choose 4 easy compounds and 3 challenging compounds from the list below to label and draw.
Follow the model in your journal.
Include both the formula and the model for each compound.
 
Here is the list of compounds for you to choose from for this assignment.
 
EASY: Water, salt, ammonia, methane, baking soda, sulfuric acid, nitrogen, ethanol, vinegar
CHALLENGING: Glucose, acetic acid, butane, citric acid, octane
 
To search on Google...
1) Use the phrase "chemical formula for ___________________" using the name of the compound.
2) At the top of your search results, the formula will appear.
3) To find the drawing as a ball & stake model click "images".
