If you missed our 2:00 Zoom session this week, Wed - Fri, then here is what you missed.
You need to go through it, watch the Power Point, and create the chart in your science journal.
 
If you missed it, you obviously won't get the "lecture / discussion" part but at least you'll see the basics. The point of the lesson was to calculate AU, create a table with the data, and have the information about the structure and distance of the planets presented in a different way from how the book does it.
 
The formula for calculating AU is at the bottom of the slide about Mercury - you'll need a calculator.
 
Set up a page in your journal with the title "Calculating Planetary AU" and then make three columns...
  • Name of Planet
  • Distance from earth in km
  • Distance from earth in AU
Fill it in for each planet as you go through the Power Point and use your calculator to figure out the distances.
