Take time to carefully read Ch. 7, Lesson 2.
 
Then watch the video below about atoms and how they are put together.)
 
As you take the quiz, 
answer the questions.
Some of the questions are from your reading and some are from the video.
The video is a little odd but it does a good job of explaining the topic!

Atoms Annotated Reading Passage
This reading passage about Atoms will be annotated by you.
If you have a printer do Assignment #1.
If you do not have a printer do Assignment #2.
Assignment #1
Below is an annotated reading passage for your to print out.
Print it out, cut it in half, recycle one half (the two halves are the same) and then glue the half you kept onto the next empty page of your science journal.
 
Annotate the passage for these 4 things...you need to find at least 3 annotations for each!
 
  • highlight words that are less familiar that you want more information about
  • write questions that you have as you are reading and thinking about the text
  • circle things that you already knew or have read before
  • underline things that surprise you or you think are extra interesting
 
Assignment #2
If you cannot print, then you need to write your annotations on the next page of your science journal.
 
Open the PDF below, read the passage on your computer screen, and then write down 3 annotations for each of these four things. Write down your annotations in an organized way.
 
  • write down any words that are less familiar that you want more information about
  • write down any questions that you have as you are reading and thinking about the text
  • write things you read that you already knew or have read before
  • write down things that surprise you or you think are extra interesting.
